He is survived by: his children, Brian Townsend of Brookings, Dean Townsend (Kellie) of Andover, Jane Gubrud (Wade) of Gary and Gaylon Townsend (Nichol) of Warner; his grandchildren, Kayla Martens (Jordan), Collin Townsend, Cassandra, Travis Townsend, Grant, Kaitlyn, Nolan Gubrud, Colton and Kya Townsend; his great grandchildren, Rylee, Owen and Mya Martens; his sisters, Dee Herrick of California and Velma Pibal (Mel) of Minnesota; and his siblings-in-law, Marjorie Townsend and Luke Auen.
