She was predeceased by: her spouse Elvio J. "Gary" Cassiol; her child Gary Cassiol (late Marsha); and her sibling Carmen Ciambella. She is survived by: her children, Kathleen Alfano (Dennis), Diane Tiede (Paul), Mary Anne Higgins and Joseph Cassiol; her grandchildren, Janine, Jason, Darryl, Brian, Mara, Danielle, Kelly and Melaina; and her siblings, Peter Ciambella, Phyllis DiPirro and Jesse Ciambella. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Violet's memory to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
