It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Velma Wagner of Alexandria, South Dakota, born in Seneca, South Dakota, who passed away on January 9, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Karl Sorenson and Marie Sorenson (Gogolin); her husband Chuck; her son Greg; and her siblings, Melvin, Arthur, Kenneth, Glenn, Ruth Lauer and Shirley Wagner Barker.

She is survived by: her children, Joanne Osnes (John) of Black Hawk, SD, Carol Campbell (Scott) of Watertown, SD, Daniel Wagner (Lynette) of Sioux Falls, SD, Leonard Wagner (Joni) of Pryor, OK, Steven Wagner (Donna) of Sioux Falls, SD and Kenny Wagner (Deb) of Mitchell, SD; and her sister Carolen Weeks (Robert) of Columbia, TN.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Blondie's name to place a veterans' statue in honor of the Blondie and Chuck Wagner Family, Gold Star Family of SSG Greg Wagner, at the Hanson County Court House.
