It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Curtis L. Saugstad (Alcester, South Dakota), who passed away on May 31, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Saugstad and Agnes Saugstad (Nelson); and his siblings, Elwood, Joyce Erickson, Ferne Saugstad and Norma Tegeler.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Swanson of Alcester; and his sons, Allan (Janine) of Sioux Falls, Eldon (Traci) of Volga and Clifton (Jeanette) of Sioux Falls. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

I remember also getting together at Auntie’s & Great Grandpa’s house, & Herb & Mildreds. I remember playing outside, walking the roads, with my cousins. Doing the simpler things in life, that kids today don’t get to enjoy. I remember how kind Curtis & Carolyn were to me when dad & mom passed. There was never a more compassionate man.
