He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Sr. Shepherd and Eva Shepherd (Hayes); his children, Leonard, Joshua, Brandon, Andrew and Tamara; and his grandson Jason Shepherd.
He is survived by: his close friend Brenda King of Rosholt; his children, Charlotte Shepherd of Browns Valley, MN, Katelyn Shepherd, Raylyn Shepherd of Rosholt, Raymond Shepherd III of Waubay, SD and Daniel Shepherd of Fargo; and his niece Barb Jens of Enemy Swim. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
