He was predeceased by: his parents, Annabelle Eilene Bierman (Dunker) and Nels Bierman; and his brothers, Patrick Bierman, Arvid Bierman and Tim Bierman.

He is survived by: his siblings, Sandra Patten of Watertown, SD, Loretta Brick (Larry) of Aberdeen, Sally Bitz of Aberdeen and Allen 'A. J.' Bierman (Cindy) of Mitchell, SD.
