He is survived by: his grandson Fai; his wife Peggy Catalano of Aberdeen; his children, Paul Catalano (Kristy) of Mandan, ND, Steve Jr., Richard Motl Fransen (Tiffany) of Kansas City, MO, Jennifer Reed of Snyder, NE and Kevin Fransen of Aberdeen; and his grandchildren, Alexandra, Andrew, Thomas and Lauren.

The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers.
