He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elizabeth "Betty" Schmaltz and Albert Kreuger; his adoptive father C. Harland Leighty (Betty); his wife Marlene Lacher; his daughter LeAnn Leighty Petersen; his son-in-law Leif Petersen; and his grandchildren, Britta and Kai.
