He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Hoops and Helena Hoops (Bahr); his sister Betty Jean Jensen; and his brothers-in-law, Marion Jensen, Duane Neumann and Henry Fingerlin.
He is survived by: his wife Maralyn Richardson of Aberdeen; his children, Kyle Hoops (Cindy) of Cedarburg, WI, Karleen James (Scott) of West Chester, IA, Kolin Hoops (Abby) of Denver, CO and Kelly Hoops (Neile) of Sturgis; his grandchildren, Kayla Waller (Aaron), Tyler Hoops (Gabby), Blake James, Ashlee James, Becca Dhliwayo, Gwen Hoops, Owen Hoops and Liam Hoops; and his siblings, Delores "Dodie" Neumann, JoAnne Elsing (Henry), Berdeen "Deenie" Fingerlin and Darold "Darry" Hoops (Karen).
