He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kienow and Kay Kienow (Nieuwsma); and his sister-in-law Evelyn Kienow. He is survived by: his wife Amanda Thomann of Aberdeen; his children, Patrick Ays, Sr. of Sioux Falls, SD, Ashley Popham (Jordan) of Watertown, SD and Steven Ays of Aberdeen; his grandson Patrick Ays, Jr. of Minneapolis, MN; and his siblings, Hank Kienow (Cathy) of The Villages, FL and Cheryl Papke (Craig) of Stratford, SD.
