It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John W. Bender of Aberdeen, South Dakota, who passed away on December 21, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Bender and Lenora Bender (Diede); his brothers, Milbert Bender and Jerald Bender (Jerry); and his niece Lorry Rall.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Bender (Von Eschen); his children, Brad Beilke (Deb) of Miller, SD, Becky Mehlhoff (Monte) of Aberdeen, SD, Brenda Mehlhaf (Michael) of Freeman, SD, Tami Buss (Scott) of Sioux Falls, SD and John Bender (Jackie) of Leola, SD; his grandchildren, Bret Beilke (Laura), Drew Beilke, Alyson Mehlhoff, Joshua Mehlhoff, Riley Mehlhaf, Kaitlyn Mehlhaf, Eli Buss, Ava Buss, Jace Bender, Jaxson Bender and Jameson Bender; his great grandchildren, Theo Beilke and Haddie Beilke; his sister Arlene Rall (Marvin); and his siblings-in-law, Darlene Bender, Lea Bender, Pat Beilke, Chuck Von Eschen (Janet) and Dennis Von Eschen (Janet). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
