He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Cowles and Veronica'Fern' Cowles (Schulte); his children, Thomas M. Cowles and Paula K. Cowles; his wife Karen A. Engelhart; his siblings, Elizabeth'Betty'Styles, Fredrick'Fred'Cowles Jr. and Richard'Dick'Cowles; and his great grandchild Trey.
He is survived by: his granddaughters, Jennifer Cowles and Cynthia Genzler (T. J.); his great grandchildren, Audra, Autumn and Aubrie Genzler; his sister Carol Thies; and his daughter-in-law Jannelle Cowles-Nelson (Bill Nelson). He is also survived by his brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
