He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Nikolas and Magdalena Nikolas (Krumm); his wife Mavis Elgene Anderson; and his siblings, Mary Ochs, Philomena Derzab (Blondie), Elizabeth Magdalena "Betty" Farthing and Joseph Nikolas.
He is survived by: his children, Connie Nikolas, Maureen Nikolas of Aberdeen, Mark Nikolas of Roslyn, SD, Priscilla Thornton (Greg) of Sioux Falls, SD, Roger Nikolas (Jill) of Sioux Falls, SD, Paul Nikolas (Michelle) of Sioux Falls, SD and Nancy Maier (Glenn) of Bismarck, ND; his grandchildren, Mercedes, Christopher, Michael Leon, Allie Cavanaugh (PJ), Joseph, Micah Nikolas, Lucas, Andrew Nikolas and Logan Maier; his stepgrandchildren, Jordon, Kelsey Thornton and Jeremiah Maier; his sister Fran Lux (Gene) of Aberdeen; and his sisters-in-law, Virginia Spencer of Elk River, MN, Janet Frey (Kenneth) of Claremont, SD and Connie Anderson of Aberdeen.
The use of masks and social distancing is strongly encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Mary's Church or the Salvation Army.
