We are sad to announce that on August 24, 2021, at the age of 89, Dorothy Merkel of Aberdeen, South Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred "Fritz" and Rosina "Rosie" Miller (Siegler); her husband Alvin Merkel; her son Steven; and her sister Verna Klipfel.
She is survived by: her children, Ron Merkel and Sheryl Merkel of Sun City, AZ; her grandchildren, Nicolle Merkel of Deadwood, SD, Stephani Kringstad (Scott) of Sioux Falls and Courtney Sparks (Brian) of Sioux Falls; her great grandchildren, Brandon Schweitzer, Alexis Horst, Nolan Sparks, Stellan and Freyia Kringstad; her siblings, Donna Mueller of Champlin, MN and Donald Miller of Forbes; her sisters-in-law, Marion Martin and Fran Schwan; her great grandchildren, Ashton Lenling and Jayce Lenling; her nephew Mickey Miller; and her grandson-in-law Brian Sparks.
