He was predeceased by: his parents, Byron Hazeltine and Beatrice Hazeltine (Carton); his wife Joyce Simpson; his son Kirk; and his siblings, Byron, Stillman, Doug and Wealthy Ann.
He is survived by: his children, Derek and Tara Heggen (Gordon); his grandchildren, Katelyn, Megan, Gessie, Duncan, Kennan and Evan; his great grandchild Berklee; and his brother John. He is also survived by niece, many nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces.
A memorial has been established in Dave's name to benefit the Custer VFW Memorial Wall. Donations may be sent to: Custer Area Veterans Memorial Association, 622 Crook Street, Custer, SD 57730-1608.
