David Alvin Feickert Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David Alvin Feickert of Aberdeen, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 28, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elvin Feickert and Christina Feickert (Geffre); and his brother Peter. He is survived by: his wife Sonia Schmidt; his daughters, Deanna Sleep (Matthew) of Rapid City, SD and Roxann Engel of Rapid City, SD; his stepdaughters, Jillain Snodgrass (Max) of Wichita, KS, Melisa Rosenau (Bill) of Bristol, SD and Jennifer Bjorgaard of Aberdeen; his siblings, Dennis (Rae) of Aberdeen, Roger (Cathy) of Aberdeen, Philip (Pam) of Sioux Falls, Sidney (Launa) of Long Lake and Joyce (Marvin Kirchler) of Tucson, AZ; and his sister-in-law Tracy (Peter). He is also survived by six grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, six step-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 9:30 AM. A wake was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Schriver's Memorial Mortuary (414 5th Ave NW, Aberdeen, SD 57401). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (502 2nd Ave SE, Aberdeen, SD 57401).
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Avera @Home Hospice Care of Aberdeen.
