He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel McDow and Dora Trapp McDow; and his siblings, Eva M. Cunningham, Catherine M. Barnes, Brenda M. Grier, Francis McDow, Samuel McDow, Jr. and James McDow.
He is survived by: his wife Lavoris Ann B. McDow; his daughters, Lakisha McDow Heath of Charlotte, Teresa McDow of Charlotte and Celia McDow of Charlotte; his stepsons, Mario A. Boyd of Detroit, MI and Todd Heath of Winston Salem, NC; his brothers, Clayton McDow of Lancaster, SC, Jerry McDow (Deloris) of Rock Hill, SC., Curtis McDow of Durham, NC and Larry McDow (Sabrina) of Atlanta, GA.; and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Boyd of Charlotte, NC, Donald Boyd of Charlotte, NC, Timothy Smith (Felicia) of Charlotte, NC, Candice Boyd of Charlotte, NC and Miriam Smith of Mt. Holly, NC. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild and 4 adopted Grandchildren.
