She was predeceased by: her parent Sarah Watson; her brother Mack Johnson; and her daughter Sharon R. Stewart. She is survived by: her children, Frances Kennedy of Winston-Salem, NC, Melvin Stewart of York, SC and Timothy Stewart (Lois) of Rock Hill, SC; her brother Chris Johnson (Barbara) of Charlotte, NC; and her grandchild Anissa Stewart-Jiles. She is also survived by six grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
