She was predeceased by: her parent Nellie Ledford Erdy. She is survived by: her parent David Erdy Sr.; her siblings, Susan Bishop, Teresa Erdy-Hinson and David Erdy Jr.; her husband John Chavez; her son Jonathan Chavez (Kellie); and her grandchildren, Wyatt, Jakob, Kensleigh and Everleigh.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte.
