She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Menakaya and Victoria Menakaya; and her siblings, Billy Menakaya and Ijeoma Egonu. She is survived by: her husband Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu; her daughters, Ogbonneya Uzor-Kalu (Neya) of Lagos Nigeria and Ezinne Uzor-Kalu (Zina) of Abuja Nigeria; her grandson Joshua Kalu-Iyere; and her siblings, Chief Nwibe Menakaya, Dr. Eloka Menakaya, Ufondu Menakaya, Ikechukwu Menakaya, Bob Menakaya, Ngozi Nnaedozie and Ebele Ebo. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and life-long friends.

Her banking career was largely overshadowed by her humanitarian work, but her background in finance played a significant role in her ability to effectively manager her Ifeoma Kalu Foundation and carry out her various philanthropic projects.
