He was predeceased by: his parents, William Watson and Mary Watson Hogue Burns; and his siblings, Jean Burns Horton, William Lee Burns, Dorothy Yvonne Burns Trusdale and Roger Desmond Burns.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Childers Burns; his daughter Suzanne Burns (Frank McGonagill) of York, SC; and his grandson John McGonagill.
