He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ransom Mitchem and Elizabeth Duncan Mitchem; his wife Gladys B Mitchem; his children, Elizabeth Mitchem and Mark Mitchem; and his siblings, JC, Billy, Ray Mitchem, Katheleen Burnette, Ruby Blackwell and Lorene Parker.
He is survived by: his sons, John A. Mitchem, Jr. (Crystal) of Woodruff and Kelvin Mitchem (Avonda) of Moore; his grandchildren, Holly Mitchem, Christopher Mitchem, Jennifer Kuzik, Kayla Griffin, Hailey Mitchem, Hayden Mitchem and Hannah Mitchem; and his close friends, Randy Revis and Mark Blackwood. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
