James Stokely Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Stokely (Woodruff, South Carolina), who passed away on January 27, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Curtis and Bonnie Kate Stokely (Woody); his wife Wilma Carolyn Stokely (Clark); his sister Wanda Faye Strange; his granddaughter Marissa Leanne Butler; and his great grandchild Ayannah Renea Degree.
He is survived by: his sisters, Dora Kate Stokely of Del Rio, TN. and Nellie Haney of Del Rio, TN.; his daughters, Cathy Stokely (Roy) of Grey Court, Freda Butler of Spartanburg, Cindy Jackson of Spartanburg and Debra Stokely of Spartanburg; his grandchildren, James Owen, Clark Butler, Katrina and Destiny Jackson; his stepgrandsons, Billy and Justin Jackson; his great grandchildren, Kairi and Sean Owen; his nephews, Rodney (Regina), Anthony (Wendy) and Curtis Haney (Mary Lou); and his niece Angel Whaley (Stephen).
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lanford Gwinn Mortuary (257 N Main St, Woodruff, SC 29388). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
