He was predeceased by: his parents, Brooks Thomas Gillespie and Janie Lou Payne Gillespie; and his siblings, Martha Caldwell and James "Jim" Gillespie. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Taylor Gillespie; and his children, Scott Gillespie (Laurie) of Woodruff, Lisa Barker (Steve) of Atlanta and Brooke Clay (Gregg) of Moore.
