He was predeceased by: his parents, James Dennis and Virginia Hughes Tate; and his brother Raymond Tate. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Patsy" Tate; his children, Brian Lee Weathers (Cindy) and Jessica Tate Montjoy (Josh) of Woodruff; his grandchildren, Ashton Sloan (Jackson), Madi Montjoy, Matthew Weathers, Tate Montjoy, Ella Weathers and Harper Kate Montjoy; and his siblings-in-law, Steve Carlton of Spartanburg and Larinda Tate of Wrightsville, Georgia..
