He was predeceased by: his parents, Adger Rhodes and Sara Knight Rhodes; his children-in-law, Tim Wheatley and Rhonda Rhodes; and his siblings, Genell Wood, William "Buddy" Turner, Jack Rhodes, Luther Rhodes, Lucenie Scott and Estelle Norwood.
He is survived by: his children, Beth Wheatley of Monkton, MD, Nancy Morrow (Ted) of Enoree and Jim Rhodes (Courtney) of Enoree; his grandchildren, Marie Williams (Shane), Megan Rhodes, David Wheatley (Kaley), Will Wheatley (Anna), Sarah Wheatley, Lindsay Halloran (Cody), David Johnson and Luke Johnson; his great grandchildren, Kaylee, Landon, Greyson Williams and Nathan Wheatley; his sister Lois Nelson of Laurens; and his sister-in-law Cheryl Turner of Jefferson.
