He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia J. Smith; his parents, Furman Smith and Creola Smith; and his brother Cleve Smith (Buddy). He is survived by: his children, Johnnie "Rick" Smith (Karen), Lisa Courtney (Russell) and Robbie Smith (Jasi); and his grandchildren, Jason Courtney, Ashley McCall, Johnnie Smith, Steven Fryer, Christopher Smith, Daniel Smith, Krista Camera, Kodie Smith, Jordan Smith and Grayson Smith.
