She was predeceased by: her parents, John Bernell Byars and Elsie Inez Youngblood Byars; and her childhood sweetheart Cyril Cullen Johnson. She is survived by: her children, Cynthia "Cindy" J. George (Jerry A.) and Cyril Kevin Johnson (Donna Ivey); her grandchild Emalie Johnson Howle (Adam T.); and her siblings, Myra B. Ridgeway (Brooke) and John Edward Byars (Karen).
