He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene K. Hammett and Corrie Grubbs Hammett; and his siblings, Mary Lou Hammett and Willie Hammett. He is survived by: his wife Dixie Jo Blankenship Hammett; his children, Amanda Hammett of Hilda, Todd Hammett of Barnwell, Jamie Hammett (Angela) of Orangeburg and Chris Grubbs of Orangeburg; his sister Betty Bannister of Barnwell; and his grandchildren, Sierra Williams, Brittany, Sarah Hammett, Colby and Cameron Grubbs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
