He was predeceased by: his parents, Mylez "Bud" Charles and Mary Elizabeth Charles; his son John Charles; and his siblings, Evaline Guindon, Magdalene Plouff and Grover Charles.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Justin "Bubba" Maxwell (Monica), Aaron Wright (Shelby), Christian Wright and Elizabeth Wright; his great grandchildren, Jimmy, Bree, Gabbie, Christopher, Zackery, Amelia, Kaylee-Grace and Alena; and his siblings, Pauline Mitchum of Charleston and Elster Charles of North Augusta, SC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
