It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ida Ruth Simmons of Williamston, South Carolina, born in Pelzer, South Carolina, who passed away on May 7, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband William Rudolph "Rudy" Simmons; her parents, Austin Wilkes "Stoke" Taylor and Jessie Donald Tripp Taylor; and her siblings, James Edward "Dudder" Taylor, Austin Wilkes Taylor, John Willard "Buckeye" Taylor, William Dendy "Speck" Taylor, Mary Taylor, Mattie Louise Taylor Griffith, Jessie Beatrice Taylor Phillips and Lula Frances "T. T.".
She is survived by: her daughter Nora Elizabeth "Beth" Grumbles; her son-in-law Race Grumbles of Easley; and her sister Esteleen Taylor Masters.
Due to Covid-19, the family requests that masks be worn and social distancing observed.
