He was predeceased by: his parents, Bascom Maness and Bonnie Tankersley Maness; and his brothers, Bascom "Junior" Maness and Thomas Lowell Maness. He is survived by: his children, Stephen "Bird" Maness (Lisa) of Whitmire and Lynn Maness (Becky Poag) of Newberry; his grandson Lee Sims (Aminee) of Newberry; his great grandchild Paisleigh Sims; his siblings, Harold Maness (Travis) of North Augusta, Jo Ann Wilbanks (Jerry) of Whitmire and Elsie Taylor (Leonard); and his close friend Randy Wilson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
