He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Loyd Starnes, Sr. and Carrie McMurtury Malone; his sister Linda Starnes; and his stepfather William "Bill" Malone. He is survived by: his wife Esther Reardon Starnes; his children, Michelle Knight (Jason) of Newberry and Travis Starnes; his grandchildren, Kristopher Long, Carrie Burns, April Knight, CJ Meakim, Justin Knight and Ashlyn Knight; his sister-in-law Betty Reardon; and his close friends, Cathy and Larry Evans. He is also survived by his many nephews and great-nephews.
