It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Loretta Gibson Lanier of Whitmire, South Carolina, who passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband James Richard Lanier; her parents, James Walter and Hettie Roland Gibson; and her son Donald Richard Lanier. She is survived by: her siblings, Ed Gibson of Whitmire and Mary Alice Nelson of Whitmire. She is also survived by two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Avenue Baptist Church, 524 Central Avenue, Whitmire, SC 29178.
