He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cordell Gilliam and Jesse Garmon Gilliam of Virginia; and his siblings, Charles Gilliam, L. E. Gilliam and Shirley Dickert.
He is survived by: his wife Lyn Gilliam; his children, Amy Thomas (Jed) of Summerville, Brooke Matthews (Neil) of Batesburg, Dustin McKee of Union, Ryan Gilliam (Amber) of Little Mountain, Lyndsay Gilliam of Little Mountain and Miller Gilliam of Little Mountain; his grandchildren, Jesse Thomas, Samantha Matthews, Kate Matthews, Audrey Matthews and Bradley Gilliam; and his mother-in-law Willie Miller.
