She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Simmons and Mary Stephens Simmons; and her husband Ralph Preston Owens. She is survived by: her children, Judy Watkins (Jerry), Sandra Rushton (Frank), Ronnie Owens (Louvenia) and Marty Owens; and her grandchildren, Darrell Owens, Brian Watkins, Todd Rushton, Pam Cox, Tonya Lattimore and Sherry Shortt. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
