He was predeceased by: his wife Beatrice "Bea" Simpson Ayers; and his parents, Perry William Ayers and Estelle Martha Wilson Ayers. He is survived by: his children, Bobby Ayers of Seneca and Rhonda Ayers of Niceville; his grandchildren, Chad Ayers, Tanner Ayers, Gatlin Ayers, Callie Hurst, Haley Hamaker, Tylyn Hendrix, Kenzie Hendrix and Camlin Burns; his great grandchildren, Cate Ayers, Charlotte Ayers, Bennett Hurst, Tucker Hurst, Lucas Hamaker, Ryleigh Hamaker, Easton Douville, Sutton Alane Burns and Ezra Schutte; his brother Clay Ayers of Green Creek, NC; his siblings-in-law, Peggy Medlin, Kay Simpson and Bill Simpson; and his nieces and nephews, Leslie Ayers Shelton (late Sammy), Mandy Butts (Chris), Tiffany Burton (Alan), Donnie Moore (Ashley), Jessie Burton, Chase Moore, Austin Butts, Kody Butts, Blake Simpson, Zoe Simpson and Cooper Butts.
