He was predeceased by: his parents, C. P. Hood and Millie Duckett Hood; and his siblings, William Craig Hood, Lila Mae Duckworth, Allene Oliver, Nora Lowery and Lucille Segars.
He is survived by: his spouse Joretta Jaynes Hood of Westminster, SC; his sons, Dr. Kenneth Hood (Nancy) of Walhalla, SC and Chris Hood (Lisha) of Walhalla, SC; and his sister Ruby Lusk of Walhalla, SC. He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
