She was predeceased by: her spouse Jerry O'Neal Lawson; her parents, James Wesley Smith and Waco Sanford Smith Nicholson; her daughter Tammy Certain; her siblings, James Eugene Smith and Bertie Mae Sanford; her grandson Jessie Mulkey; and her great grandchild Conner Turner.

She is survived by: her children, Gene Mulkey, Tony Mulkey of Westminster, Clyde Mulkey of Seneca and Michelle Turner of Fair Play; and her sister Connie Ann Certain of Westminster. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
