He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Jessie Smith and Icie Pearl Rholetter; his children, Ronald Ernest Smith, Nancy Lane Page and Vonda Fowler; his siblings, Johnny C. Smith and Edith Pelfrey Cooley; his grandson Jason Smith; and his stepgrandchildren, Phil Chappell and Chris Chappell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Elaine Parshall of North Augusta, Linda Simmons of Westminster and Pam Vickery of Walhalla; his sister Pauline Peay of Westminster; and his grandchildren, Valerie Dunn, Michelle Fuller, Kevin Page, Eric Smith, Matt Parshall, Marcia Ducey, Nikki Eades and Darrell Simmons. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
