With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Jean Harper Deaton of Westminster, South Carolina, who passed away on December 21, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Dilworth Harper and Jessie Lois Allen Harper; and her siblings, Harold Harper, Richard Harper, Horace Harper, Jeanette Cantrell and Mary Helen Harper.

She is survived by: her husband Clyde William Deaton, Jr.; her children, Richard Deaton of Lowndesville, Judy Ann Riddle (Jimmy) of Spartanburg, Debra Ramey Smith (Delano) of Westminster, Vicky Ramey Holland (Mike) of Westminster and Tammy Prater (Raymond) of Seneca; her sister JoAnn Rogers of Seneca; and her grandchildren, Chad Riddle, Wendy Lufkin, Jason Smith, Austin Hunter, Tiffiney Love, Jeremy Holland, Brianna Keith, Justin Williams, Brook Smith and Ashlyn Deaton. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
