She was predeceased by: her parents, Spurgeon Lee Freeman and Dexter Grace Forney Freeman; her husband William Ira Sturgis; her sisters, Marjorie Alewine and Mary Elizabeth Blankstein; and her daughter-in-law Susan Canty Adicks Sturgis.
She is survived by: her son Ira Freeman Sturgis of Rock Hill; her grandchildren, William Freeman Sturgis of Rock Hill and Elizabeth Adickes Sturgis Salerno (Sam) of Columbia, SC; her daughter Barbara Sturgis-Everett of Ann Arbor, MI; her grandson John Freeman Everett (Anisa Douglas); her great grandchild Niara May Douglas Everett of Grand Rapids, MI; her grandson Timothy Lewis Everett of Philadelphia, PA; and her son William Timothy Sturgis (Autumn Gallant) of Columbia, SC.. She is also survived by three children, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
