He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hecko and Dodie Hecko of Indiana; his siblings, Joseph (Hecko) and Becky McCann of Indiana; and his pets, Maggie and Mollie Hecko.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Hecko of Seneca; his friend Arthur "Greasy" Reeves; his pet Chick Fil A; his children, Matthew Hecko (Cynthia) of Florida, Amy and Barrett (Brian) of Walhalla; his siblings, Michael Hecko, Jerry Hecko of Indiana, Dan Hecko of California and Flo Hatcher of Connecticut; and his granddaughter Milah Hecko of Florida.
