He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Sam, Jr. Laye and Lois Hunnicutt Laye; and his brother Roderick Laye. He is survived by: his sisters, Selma Bailey of Greenville, SC, Betty Harris of Conyers, GA and Wanda Harden (Larry) of West Union, SC; his nephew Jason Harden; his niece Kimberly Burrow (Marc); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Melody Hoover, Kodie Harden, Maggie Harden, Grant Harden, Caitlin Burrow (Wesley Reynolds), Cameron Burrow and Carrigan Burrow; and also, Acelyn Harden and Leilani Reynolds.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Davenport Funeral Home (311 SC-11, West Union, SC 29696). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
