It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bernice Atlee Wood Batts (West Union, South Carolina), born in Rose Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on July 31, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Shelton Wood and Ozell Fussell Wood Todd; and her brother Charles E. Wood (Anna). She is survived by: her children, William "Bill" Batts (Teresa) of Barnsville, GA, Keith Batts of Barnesville, GA, Joy Batts Johnson (Gene) of Mora, MN and Charles Whitney Batts of Walhalla, SC; and her sisters, Yvonne W. MacLean (Al) of Cameron, NC and Carolyn W. Kemp (Harry) of Walhalla, SC. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
