He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Sutphin and Trudie Sutphin; his wife Maxine Seivers Sutphin; his granddaughters, Danielle and Amy; and his great great grandchild Layla.
He is survived by: his children, Atonia Walpole (Bob) of Columbia, Les Sutphin (Karen) of Newberry, Galen Sutphin (Rhae) of Columbia, Lisa Hawes (Eddy) of Georgetown and Dwight Sutphin (Cindy) of West Columbia. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel (7600 Woodrow St, Irmo, SC 29063). A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Southland Memorial Gardens (820 W Dunbar Rd, West Columbia, SC 29170).
