She was predeceased by: her husband Dewey Clive Hurt; her parents, Lee Blackburn Sims and Lougenia Martin Sims McCarley; her daughter Cynthia Lynn Hayden; and her siblings, Betty Bragg, Joyce Hunnicutt, Sonny and Charles Lee Sims.
She is survived by: her daughter Deborah Stanfield of West Columbia; her grandchildren, Rebecca Deanne Rabon of Lexington, Laura Elizabeth Stanfield of Cayce and Philip Thomas of Savannah, GA; her great grandchildren, Savannah Miles, Easton Rabon and Samantha Rabon of Lexington; and her great great grandchildren, Aleeyah and Waylon Miles of Lexington.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Congaree Presbyterian Church of Cayce (1221 Lafayette Ave, Cayce, SC 29033). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (SC Gift Processing, 4600 Park Rd, Ste 250, Charlotte, NC 28209), Congaree Presbyterian Church (1221 Lafayette Ave, Cayce, SC 29033), or a charity of your choice.
