It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnny O'Neal Martin Sr. of West Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on October 21, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Martin and Alice S. Martin of Woodford, SC.; and his siblings, Adrian, Gerald Martin of Woodford, Rodney of Rockmart, GA and Betty M. Whitman of Eufaula, AL..
He is survived by: his wife Vernell Neese Martin of Swansea; his children, Wanda Martin of West Columbia, Susan M. Rutkowski (Frank) of Chapin and Johnny O. Martin Jr. of Cayce; and his grandchildren, Lindsay Martin (John Minner), Ryan Martin, Alec Rutkowski and Rachel Rutkowski.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Saluda River Baptist Church Family Life Center.
