He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold K. McLain and Mary Louise Thompson McLain; his grandson Grayson Plowden; his brother Jack McLain; and his close friend Izzy.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Butner McLain; his children, Trey Plowden (Kim), Jennifer Boatwright (Steven), Jeff McLain (Cathy) and Todd McLain; and his grandchildren, Spencer Plowden (Danielle), Emma Plowden, Olivia Boatwright, John Boatwright, Zach McLain and Taylor McLain.
