He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Orell Smith and Martha Mills Smith; his daughter Laura R. Smith of Columbia, S. C.; his sister Cheryl Brearley (Teresa Peterson) of Lexington, S. C.; his nieces and nephews, Dr. William Brearley Jr., Adam Peterson, Jenny Cooper, Hannah Meade and Kayla Tavernier; his uncle Lowell; and his aunt Mary Alice Mills of Lugoff, S. C.. He was also cherished by his daughter and cared deeply for both of his sisters.
